Well that’s a new one. Can’t say I’ve ever seen that happen before.

While I know this was a fluke thing which rarely happens when backing up, it is also why you NEVER put air to a new bag when installing the same thing can happen and the results are not pretty.

Ya know the bolt that holds it to the trailer broke and the air pressure kicked it out. I'd like one red¢ for every time I've backed up and something new happened.

A truck broke down today so I got the call to see if I could run a load of grinding balls to Climax. Don’t mind if I do. Anything at this point beats sitting in the salt mine line. Little bit of snow falling going up to Eisenhower tunnel but once thru, the descent was dry. Got parked at my rest area at the base of Copper Mountain. Dump these suckers in the morning and reload in Salida CO back to KC to dump Monday. How’s everyone else’s week coming to an end?

Well my trailer search continues. Tonight I stopped in and looked at a 1997 Travis 30 ft frameless, 8’6” spread tandem with lift front axle. Asking $15k, so not a bad deal, I don’t think, but will need some floor work and a liner, brakes, and tires. So im not sure what to think… any thoughts? Too old to mess with? Are floor repairs really expensive?

Oh I should mention, the guy I intend to work for said he wouldn’t recommend anything longer than 35 ft, 28-32 ft better yet, because of some tight spots he gets into. Also this trailer got a new tarp just before it was parked 5 years ago when things slowed down.

@YardMule89 @motocross25 @07shaker how much can I legally haul in KS with a 30 ft with a spread tandem? Since road materials are exempt from the bridge law, I think I could get up to 85.5 normally, but what if I want to help a buddy with grain at harvest? I think that might be different?

From what I’ve seen at harvest the farmers don’t get messed with. I’ve hauled a few loads for a couple farmers around here and they pretty much just load the wagon and send it. The heaviest I saw was 89500 I believe, and that was a closed tandem.
