Here's a few things y'all might find interesting, you may already know this stuff though...

    • Freightliner no longer makes the Century Class or the Classic. The Columbia is still made, but for export only. Cascadia and Coronado are their bread and butter.
    • Peterbilt has rebadged the 387 to be the 587. They've sloped the hood more for mpg reasons and also reworked the headlights although they have the same footprint. I'm sure there's other changes too. You won't find Cat motors in them either, Cat has decided against staying in that market.
    • Volvo was absent from the show.
    • Mack had one of the largest displays. Looks like they're really trying to gain market share of the OTR truck business.
    • Everybody and their monkey now makes APU's. There were a whole bunch of vendors hawking their systems. You'd think with so many in the market that the price would start to go down....no way.
    • Incandescent lights are going by the wayside. LED's are the bee's knees.
    • There were displays, many of them, from manufacturers from China. I walked by them numerous times Thursday and Friday and did not see a single person stopped at their booths. Trucking is made in the U.S.A.!!!
I'm sure there's more that I'm not remembering right now... I may edit this post to add to it at a later date.

I was also at the show and couldn't believe the size of the booths and displays. With the economy being so bad, Im surprised they spent so much money. Mack was extremely impressive. I noticed the Chinese were all positioned in one area and it looked pretty dead.

The overall mood was much more positive than last year. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Did anyone try the Trucking Energy Drinks? Not too bad

I tried one of the drinks. I think the gal that handed me the sample did more for me than the drink itself:biggrin_25525:
    Anyone do ride and drives?
