If you go with Roehl (Pronounced Rail as in they’ll rail you the first chance they get)… they are all about safety which is great, but if you end up with medical problems, and/or don’t do the 120,000 miles required for free training, you gotta pay them back for the training.

I know several guys that Roehl really railed them after only 5-8 months. And now those guys are on the hook for $6-9000, even after they helped make the company money and were bending over backwards just to stay there… sad really. I miss some of those guys, one guy did deserve to be fired. He definitely shouldn’t have passed the training…

That being said they do provide superb training and if you are open to doing flatbed work I would highly recommend you sign up for that if you're going to the Gary, Indiana terminal for training or otherwise if you get stuck doing something like reefer with them to start try to switch to flatbed as soon as you are done with the initial training and then move to curtainside as soon as possible. They might let you do curtainside immediately after finishing flatbed training or work with Superior Extrusions doing conestoga loads, either is better than reefer. Anything Roehl offers other than reefer is better than doing reefer with Roehl.
