Exactly !
Dipped a sample of diesel out of my tank and tested it for color/ dye and gave me a letter to give to my boss.
All the boss said is maybe we could run moonshine in the tanks...
EPA inspections on emissions true or myth?

Montana checked me a couple times for dyed fuel.
I can't be the only one getting that check. -

My local Peterbilt dealer makes you sign a form saying your emission system is intact as part of their check in process. Last year sometime they had a guy bring in a newer X15 that he’d deleted already and he wanted some warranty work done and didn’t say a word to them about it being deleted. Then they flashed his ECM and his truck no worky no more. Lol. Ever since then they’ve had that form to sign at check in.
As far as roadside checks I’ve heard nothing about any state doing it other than Cali. The DOT doesn’t care about emissions. About the only gray area I could see is if someone was running ELD exempt with an old engine and they noticed that it wasn’t a glider when they looked at the VIN, but even then I doubt a DOT officer would really care too much.Last edited: Feb 10, 2024

I’ve been stuck with the sniffer @ rockfall.
Rumor has it the one guy they had doing it is going to be joined by 8 more former dot guys that are transitioning to commercial emissions testers this calendar year. -
