I think you've cracked it, the bumper hooks the roof cap and especially the design and shape of the radiator badge all point to that, Thank you for that and to the others who commented.

All I have to do now is find a way to post it on the Aussie forum, unlike here, they are a bit slow to allow foreigners in though they do let us see the goodies inside. ;):)

@Hammer166, cross posted, just when I thought it was all wrapped up you present me with that. I take your point about the widow's peak but still think the Hayes Anderson has it. ;-)

    Hammer166 Thanks this.

Could be a mashup of parts too. Who knows what's been done over the last 70+ years. At some point Hayes-Anderson became just Hayes.

Well it wasn't mine, because mine was green and white, and it had 3 trailers not one.

    But, apart from that.

I learned to drive in a 1931 model A four door. My dad restored model A's for his hobby. A couple of them he started out with just a frame. Wished I could find my pics now. We used to ride in parades and he told me and my sister that we were supposed to throw the big sack of candy out to the crowd. And i was like-not my candy, no way!

That is a Marmon-Harrington. They were the company that built all the 4 wheel drive chassis for Ford up until the 1950’s. Ford in return supplied them with other parts for their brand of trucks. M-H were a big player in the 4x4 and 6x4 game during WW2.

Pretty confusing pic; as it seems to have Peterbilt headlight brackets, but countered by the Mississippi pulpwood hauler rear view mirror mounting.

Pete and KW when they were on their own before they were Paccar built a few special order All wheel drive trucks. Marmon —Herrington was the chassis supplier. They had the patent on the invention so no one else could touch it. Would not be surprising in the least for Pete to supply parts back to them in return.

Lots of interesting ideas in this ressurrected thread, indeed thanks to all. Most interesting to me and I am sure the original Aussie questionner, but as I can't get signed on there despite surely being an honorary Aussie, I can't give them the news.
