Oh yeah, that's a peaceful sleep spot too. Pizza Hut is up the street, so on occasion I'd have them deliver a pizza right to the truck lol. Sometimes they workers there will wake you up to unload. Did they knock on your door?

Nah, not today. They did get me empty in 30 minutes though an hour before appointment.

Headed to Midwest to pickup a load going to Northfield, MN for a Sunday night delivery. Hoping the weather will cooperate enough that I can time out my recaps to make it to MN by 4am or so and then shut down for a 34, but we'll see.

They told me when I was there that they couldn't get parts for that style of tails anymore. So when they were no longer fixable they were gonna be removing them.

Man.......this has been a day. My truck began leaking coolant from the APU. Filled it up with coolant and called the shop to advise. They told me to shut off the valves so coolant won't go in the direction of the APU. I'm supposed to be headed to the yard tomorrow for them to look at it.....then the snow has this major shutdown of I-70. I've been sitting here about 3 hrs stuck. Somewhere near Warrenton, there was a pileup. I saw the images of the pileup going westbound. I'm taking the load all the way to PA, and I would've been able to get a 34 but due to unforeseen circumstances lol. It's cool. I go home next week.

Is that headed to a grocery warehouse up there? I've always taken Coke or Silgan up that way. One of the other drivers talks about a good truck stop or restaurant, I wanna say it's in Northfield, but I could be wrong.

They told me that too, and I've seen some of the trailers without the side skirts too. I saw a reefer with both side skirts missing. Trailer has been through some things lol

Update: Weather did not cooperate at all. Took 10.5 hours to get from Holts Summit to Pontoon Beach and up to Eolia, MO. A couple pileups has had I-70WB shut down around Warrenton, another has had Wentzville area at a standstill, dozens of single car wrecks, a pileup on 370, a dozen or so 2-3 car wrecks. Was a bit apocalyptic lol.

Ah, I typed my message at the same time you did lol. Certainly a bad day to be having coolant leaks and APU issues. I-70 was a disaster earlier -- you got stuck with the aftermath, sadly. I was there right at the beginning of the disaster, so I squeaked through before the shutdowns and made a little progress today. I think I made it far enough to squeak in a 34 and run it straight through Sunday

Around MM192, there was a tractor trailer jacknifed perfectly perpendicular and then a few more trucks and 5 or 6 cars in ditches for that same pileup. I'm sure the one eastbound was from rubbernecking at that one. Frontage road near the Warrenton Flying J was at a standstill from people spinning out trying to get up a hill.

Hopefully your coolant leak is just a simple gasket or fitting or something that they can get patched up in a hurry. Be careful wherever ya end up making it tonight. This refreeze wasn't as bad as the ice storm a few weeks ago, but it was certainly slick. I took a deep breath once I made it here

The petro at albert lea has a place called SKOL in it. It's a killer restaurant. Then north west of the cities there's a petro 2 slash holiday travel center that's real nice. Has a good restaurant an bakery. They have fritter bread an doughnuts that are as big as your head.

The coolant leak is probably just a bad hose off the back of the apu. Had that happen to one of our trucks when we were there.

Whenever skirts get messed up they just cut em off. I never seen them replace any skirts. Never could understand why ya order stuff with aerodynamics to get better fuel mileage an then not replace it when it goes bad.

    bryan21384 Thanks this.
