Seller didn’t have any info on it. He bought it 20 years ago. This is the first trailer I’ve bought and I’m not too familiar with the options I have. Figured i would need a plate in order to have it inspected.

Actually you don't need it to get it inspected. Getting it on the road is a different story though lol. I would get it inspected to see if it's worth all the aggravation. If it's in good shape and still usable then l would do what mack suggested. I had to get a replacement tag from Titan trailer to replace my lost one on a 10 year old Titan trailer and even that was a pita. I can just imagine the hoops you would face. Or you could just happen to buy a same spec junk trailer with an ownership and legible tag from a company still in business and happen to do a frame repair where the tag is and accidentally put that tag on your trailer with no tag. Not that l would ever suggest such a thing though. Good luck with it.

Standard Forge Axle was a supplier for both Trailmobile and Great dane. They were the ones you got when you ordered Budd type hubs and wheels. Lufkin used Hobbs/Fruehauf axles. What do the taillights look like? Lufkin used there own design back then. Lufkins were two square per side Trailmobile sometimes used three 4” round per side instead of the two everyone else used.

Ok. Just did some more research and pulled some books. Starting in the 80’s Lufkin was using 4” round taillights on their flats with three per side optional. It seems for awhile Lufkin and Trailmobile were in bed together in an attempt to cover more sales territory east and were building almost like trailers for awhile. I can’t find any rock solid info on the landing gear. Both Fruehauf and Dane made there own and supplied them to others. Holland basically ended up with Fruehauf's after they bankrupted. So may not be able to get much of a clue from them.

Landing gear had been painted over but I found some info stamped on them.

Trailer does have a 10 year old tag on it. May try taking the tag to the DMV and see if they can pull any info

You may get lucky trying the plate. That spot were a decal was looks really close to the size of the vintage Lufkin decal. BFB9C782-0BB2-4FA3-8019-FFCE1C828186.jpeg like this but without the extra black under the red border.
