That's it for me too.
Team driving with my mentor was enough for me.
For many summers I had a daughter ride along with me, which was both wonderful and trying.
Too little space in that little cab for two people, and the lack of privacy is always a problem.
Is teams worth it as a company driver?

Agreed.
This is it!!! That's why I'll never do team, I've been in my trainer's truck for about 4 weeks now, and while he's cool, I can't wait to get my truck, and be alone!!! -
I did team driving many years ago as a trainer and trainee when I started at a mega fleet. They would dispatch the truck at 1200 miles a day/every 24 hours.
We got special team runs. We would go to Conway(now XPO) terminal in Cincinnati Ohio they would put their freight on our trailer. We had like 50 hours to get to their terminal in Portland Oregon. It was like 2400 miles, so it took us 48 hours. Truck was limited to 65 MPH, we could only stop truck 2 hours a day and still keep that 1200 day mileage.
We did loads for Daylight Express I think was there's name. Odd ball company but they had terminal in NJ with loads to California then back to Pennsylvania.
You’re looking at 5,000-6,000 miles a week times your rate per mile. If a regular solo run load or any load was in trouble of being late. They would always get team truck to save the day.
No real privacy but all guys are the same.austinmike, dosgatos and nextgentrucker Thank this. -
Yeah, I couldn't do it...

Some people want or need the company, and they thrive on high miles and tight loads.
nextgentrucker Thanks this. -
That is so not true.
I have a difficult time relating to most men. We have none of the same interests or goals.
I am not competitive by nature, and I care little for acquiring money.
Sports for the most part interest me very little. There was that stretch of time with Jimmy Johnson and Chad in the 48 team, but that's about it.
We are not all the same.austinmike, snowmantrucking101, nextgentrucker and 1 other person Thank this. -
That true, both guys should like same music and stuff. When it comes to privacy you have to comfortable around each other and not in competitionnextgentrucker and Moosetek13 Thank this.

It depends on who you drive for honestly. There are some companies that specialize in team operations. There are other companies that offer teams jobs, but they are still primarily a solo company, with greater emphasis on the eastern half of the country. Then with certain megas, the team division could watered down because they put a lot of their trailers on the rail. That last thought is just speculation though. As alluded to earlier if you can run back and forth cross country, that would be perfect.nextgentrucker Thanks this.

This year is new but there has already been a bunch of guys who died in the bunk in crashes… make darn sure your co driver knows his stuff.
nextgentrucker and Newdriver813 Thank this. -
It’s not healthy to be stuck in that box all week. Can’t walk or exercise. It’s not good for your mental heath either.
nextgentrucker, wifi_guru, Deere hunter and 2 others Thank this.
