I'm playing the safety guy and preparing him for the grilling he'll get. Lol

Back up slowly and put it in neutral, if you keep rolling back slowly then you’re good to go. If you stop right away you have something hung up. Easier to tell in reverse than dragging it forward.

And yes, the situation was preventable. But there’s no telling how your company will handle it. I guess it depends on how long you drug them. Generally it’s pretty obvious what happened when you flatspot two tires side by side.

Yup. First, he's going to get that long stare from the safety guy. Then the safety guy will ask him some questions. They're questions he's asked over and over again to a thousand different drivers and he already knows the answers.
The OP better give him the answers that he wants. 'fessing up would be a good start.

Yeah— that’s when you tell him that you know it’s just one of those things cause when I F something up you generally can’t fix it— usually shuts them down pretty quick

Trailer tires blow out all the time. Does the tire next to it have a big flat spot from dragging?

    1. Pre-trip the trailer and left. Noticed that the truck was slowing down a little quicker than usual.
    2. After about 2 blocks stopped the truck to check everything out. At that point the wheels were turning. Also, at that point the truck started driving normally. Thought everything was OK.
    3. Drove about 3-4 miles, tire blew out.

How did you achieve this feat? Let the truck roll in neutral?

Does no one look in their mirrors anymore? Does no one have the nuts to own up to their mistakes anymore?

Driver we've all get into a pickle at one time or another and left scratching or head. Roll with it and lesson learned. Good luck and stay safe.

Relax man. We all blow tires. We all make mistakes. I remember when I was I experienced, I blew 2 trailer tires the same way. Ice got on the brakes, they didn't release. Drug the tires, and they both blew. Not a preventable. Didn't cause an accident. Life goes on. Do better next time.
