Dang I hope it don't decide to rain all day tomorrow. My AC condenser is supposed to be here. I went and purchased a new vac pump and manifold gauges. I gotta get a new dryer [gulp] from Roberts in the morning, I just want to get this done tomorrow since Im gonna be off work anyways. I do have all weekend to do it, but dang I want AC soon.

Stayed home sick today, I think this chick at Subway tried to poison me yesterday. I was burning the candle at both ends last night and today, if ya get my drift. Puked in the truck on the way home. #### wind, blew it right back on me. I am sure I disgusted somebody on 135 last night puking out the window lol, but I couldn't help it. Feeling way better at the moment, but im still a little nervous to get too far from that toilet. Not looking forward to picking up the truck tomorrow, im sure its gonna smell great since I didnt go clean the mess up today. Yummy, dried pukage:biggrin_25523:

This week was nearly a total bust. Monday had the truck to Roberts until after noon. Grabbed 1 load of wheat for Horizon but they were so busy I couldn't even get that load dumped, so that turned into a preload for Tue. Tuesday I managed to get 3 loads dumped, and a preload. Did 4 loads Wed. Got sick Wed night, which lead me to take off Thurs, and we ain't working Fri. So I got a full two days of work this week.

Yeah that string of storm rocked me awake this morning in NM, and nearly sand blasted the paint off my truck coming west. When I climbed into the mountains it turned to snow, and was 100 foot visibility at times. I'd guess the wind speeds at 45-55mph and the snow caused a bunch of trouble in CO today according to a customer I'm hauling for tomorrow.

Be safe out there friends, winter isn't done just yet!

It's too bad there isn't some kind of penalty process for the morons that work some food joints. One of the main reasons I run nearly self-contained, is that if I get sick from food, I know the source - ME. There was a McD's in town years ago that I had gotten sick from at least 3 times just like that. I'd wait a month some times before going back again, finally I went in and confronted the manager. She tried to write it off to save face in front of 20 other customers, but I stood my ground. They figured out who it was later, and let him go - little wanna-be Beavis screwing with the food. I hope someone beats that idiot senseless someday.

I'd go in and talk to the manager about it. At the very least, they've heard it and will probably keep an eye out for trouble. Some of these places will stretch things as far as they can.

Heck, years ago I bought lunch at Burger King on post where I was stationed. I opened up the burger I got and the tomato was green and the lettuce was brown. When I took the thing back, they just shrugged at me like it was no big deal...... on an Army base! I demanded a refund and got it and left. Last time I ever tried to eat there - after that I'd just go to the chow halls. It was a training post, and there were about a dozen of them open to soldiers - all of $1.60 all you can eat :-D

The way they load you is similar to ours. I guess they still do it that way...haven't done it in a few years

Taking it fifty miles one way.

When I've hauled from flat storage, they usually have a loader around to push corn up to the conveyor and as a back up plan to load trucks in case the conveyor breaks. I've got some pics of the thing I was trying to describe, I'll find them later and put them up.

You guys have too much drama in the hopper world out there in KS! To me, a boring day trucking is a good day.

I was planning to wash the other truck this afternoon, the wind is blowing about 25-30 mph, so I may have to stand about 20 ft upwind to make the water hit it. Supposed to get the rain tonight that is coming through. It figures, it was getting just about dry enough to work in the field. Have seen some folks putting anhydrous on around here, still a little wet for real tillage.

Most of the drama is when you get to Wichita and get in the long lines. People start acting odd when they wait in line for hours. The other time you have problems is at harvest time, people get tired, anxious and freak out.

The bottom feeders around here have added a little tension.

Waiting in line never bothered me. Hell, that's when most of my posts are made anyway. Now when you pull up and there's nobody else there but it still takes them 2 hours to wander lazily over just to get started on me that I start getting annoyed. Pulling a van/reefer would drive me nuts with the wait times and bs. Some of these people really think I won't unload this trailer by hand.

No lie, i'd just as rather be bored out of my mind than have these jug heads beating on my door to yell at me.

Got the shaft from KW today, my condenser didnt show up, they blamed it on FedEx. Said they lost it, bet yall money they just never bothered to order it. We will find out on Monday when I refuse to pay the shipping on my bill. I paid for Overnight shipping. FedEx has a policy that says if they lose your package you dont pay shipping. So why should I have to pay shipping if the dealer is telling the truth right?

Apparently I missed nothing from not working Thrus. My boss said they had a 4 hour wait at Horizon lol, damnnnnnnnnnnnnn!

Hopefully these pics will work. The first one is the tractor mounted truck loading conveyor I was trying to describe. The other two are of the massive drive over conveyor they use to pile it up in the fall.

I don't mind waiting in line as long as I've got plenty of reading material. Once in a while I run across a book so good I'd rather sit and read than work.
