Coolant(green 50/50 with additive) was relatively new because I’d put a water pump on 2 months prior.Vampire Thanks this.

Liners out but no pin holes or cavities I could see. Piston coolers are good.
Vampire and broke down plumber Thank this. -

Bottom.
Vampire, broke down plumber, Oxbow and 1 other person Thank this. -
The crevice seal and o rings seem to be in poor condition. I cant say I’ve ever seen that wide rubber band be that crumbly. Might be a long shot that the water was getting by all 3 though. Head gaskets look pretty normal

Yeah I would say the liner o-rings were weak and coolant went around them. Did the truck shut down when the coolant went low. It sure does not look like it. I would make sure the low coolant sensor is working and make sure it is set to shut down when overhaul is complete.

What are the odds of them all but one, going bad nearly at once? The o-rings are stretched beyond my belief on several of these. As bad as the pistons look, only 1 liner has some aluminium gaulded to the side of it. Did these o rings and crevice seal fail and cause all this or are they the result coolant in the oil and excess heat? Head, head gasket, hole in liner or oil cooler is the only places fluids could exchange.Vampire, broke down plumber, Oxbow and 1 other person Thank this.

I probably shouldn’t comment because I’am not a Cummins guy I do know how to read parts To me from those pictures and your description it sure looks and sounds like at some point that motor has been hotVampire, broke down plumber, Oxbow and 3 others Thank this.
