I have been woken up and was told that there was going to be an inspection in this spot in 20 minutes. It was then my choice if I wanted it to be me or somebody else. Guess what ? I moved.

If there closed and the officer is not watching the scales don't think you'll have anything to worry about, I've even gone over scales in Sacramento on the I-80 east bound when they were open was around 1000 lb over on my drive axles did not get a red arrow to this day don't know how I got away with it, fortunately for me no more scales to go through till I got to the POE in Utah just the other side of Wells NV so went to the Cat scales at the Wells Flying J and fixed it up.

That makes so little sense on so many levels.

If there were no more scales there would be no reason to fix it up, except for your own peace of mind.
Certainly no reason to pay for a CAT scale. 4 holes, 5 to be certain.

Both of those statements are untrue in the United States. The weight tickets go to the company, not the driver. Indiana for sure gives out weight tickets via mail all the time… They have several in road weigh stations with cameras only, Tickets mailed right to the company address.

That’s not the case in MD. The driver is on the hook for overweight citations here.

ETA: For camera tickets you’d be right. But around these parts an overweight citation written by an officer goes to the driver.

Well I’m sure I very well could be wrong. I was under the impression that the csa points went to the company only and not the driver? I’ll have to look it up again?

    Feedman Thanks this.

    Csa goes to company.

    Overweight tickets go to drivers.

Company has no control what the driver does with weight.

No CSA points for overweight tickets. Just pay up.
