Have you ever thought about going solo? If not, CRST has a team match program and they accept inexperienced drivers. You'd have to go out for 30 days with a trainer and pass an additional road test before they'd allow you to team.
MSWS Thanks this. -
Will you take the BF along as a passenger?
Some companies won't allow a passenger that has a CDL. Maybe think the passenger might drive a little or maybe the insurance company policy. -
What may also count against him are the blemishes on his record. They'll do a background check on any passenger she decides to have in the truck. If he was able to pass a background check then they'd have had no issue teaming.

Bf does have CDL

I know he does, but if he doesn't find a job and want to ride with you, keep quiet about him having a cdl. Some companies won't let someone just be a passenger/rider if that person has a cdl.

If he's not able to pass a background check, then they won't allow him to ride as a passenger. Once they see an unauthorized passenger in the truck via front faced cam, she'll be terminated. But if she is adamant about going the "riding with unauthorized passenger route", she'll basically have to 1) turn off power to the truck everytime he needs to enter or exit the vehicle,2) keep the curtains closed whenever he's in the bunk and 3) make sure nobody else sees him. Why go through the lengths to smuggle a loved one OTR when it will only jeopardize your employment? Asking for a friendLast edited: Mar 20, 2024

That’s horrible advice right there I would not even think about that . She’s starting her career , she doesn’t need to take a stupid chance and get terminated for something as stupid as that adviceLast edited: Mar 21, 2024
BigR and BrothaTrucka513 Thank this. -
Most of us bend the rules. It's tough out there right now, so we do what we can to survive.
If the company checks his ID, then they'll know he has a CDL. No big deal, then he can't go with her, if that's company policy. Some companies don't care and some do.
As they say in the military; "Don't ask, don't tell." -
List of companies that don't care to pre-screen passenger? Can't be that many...
I'd have gone on fantastic coast-to-coast voyages with the prettiest lizards the lot had to offer if that were true. She'd have to inquire about the company's rider policy ahead of time to see whether they pre-screen passengers, but I gotta say that it's pretty much the same for the most major carriers.
