In addition to the excellent recommendations already in this thread, you may wish to try

    Enterprise Transportation Co.:
    Job Openings - Enterprise Products

There is an LPG terminal in Baytown and a crude oil terminal in Sealy. The terminal managers at both facilities are good people. They will help you get your LP license if you hire on at Baytown. Good people, good money, and excellent benefits.

    Andrews Logistics:
CDL Driver Requiremtns | Driver Requirements | Apply Today

Their terminal is in Deer Park next door to the Love's. When I worked for their former sister company (Andrews Transport) we did a lot of out-and-back loads hauling different types of lubricating oils and solvents. They acquired Andrews Transport, which was full of good people, so I'm sure Andrews Logistics has plenty of good people too.

You are having issues getting a hazmat tanker job (at this point in time) becuz:

    • You lack previous relevant experience
    • The CDL job market for new(er) driver right now sux
Suggestion: keep trying. You may have to take a job with a 2nd or 3rd pick fleet (& stay there for a few years) to build up enough experience to move on to something better.

That's what I had to do....& that was back when the CDL job market was better.

Does the concrete company you're working for have any pneumatics or end dumps you could drive?

There was a time when Western International Gas would bring you on. But matheson has changed the requirements.

Airgas might still hire you on cylinders or cryo over in Laporte. Along with Trimac or Amerigas/PTI and afew others. Or you could try to get a start with a LTL company.

Constantly check indeed, and don't give up!!!

Got a call back from Andrews. Can I message you with some questions when you were with the sister company?
