My biggest hurdle to any solution is personal transportation, and other then the small public transportation here which is almost impossible to schedule rides and outside of trucking I have yet to find any possible job. Even trying the supposed state rehab crap which has been a useless joke. Is what I need is government to just approve disability already but they probably won't
Health again blah

Thanks but I did it to myself being young and dumb. Like I said, when I was younger I could walk without a cane, getting old sucks! 63 going on 21 (in my mind, lol)
And as far as motorcycles go, I've heard all the arguments about wearing helmets, but just FYI to all you stubborn ones who don't want to wear a brain bucket. They're called that for a reason! I was wearing a full face helmet when I wrecked, and the front wraparound part of the helmet broke my collarbone-but that's ok with me-cause on the backside of the helmet there was a DEEP scratch about 8-10" long running widthwise. If I hadn't been wearing that, my brains would've been out on the hot asphalt that hot summer day on April 17th, 1977. Don't be stubborn or stupid, wear a helmet! Cause these cagers out here don't even realize that it's a matter of life or death!!Lav-25, FloridaRetired, Magoo1968 and 2 others Thank this. -
Preachin' to the choir, my friend. People are in such denial, it can't possibly happen to them. I was the same way concerning a helmet on a bicycle. Anything with a motor, I had a helmet, but I figured, a bicycle, pfft, I can run faster, so never wore one. Well, last Oct. I passed out on my bike, and a helmet would have reduced the injury considerably. It's the 1st thing the ER asked, did I have a helmet on. Well, that changed everything for me, and I see people on bikes, mostly older folks with no helmet, and think, there's some pocket change for the ER just waiting to happen.FloridaRetired and The one california kid Thank this.

Well .... say you have eyes going bad ( AMD) and since it get worse as you age , you lose your vision to the point you can't legally drive or operate heavy equipment , then you have a case for disability . Same as someone having hearing loss and such. So yea , could do something else , but if you haven't kept up with the times - such as having multiple skills - then you limit yourself to what you have .
Once i can't drive , then what ?
Thats when you use what you have knowledge of and try that .
Disability is for those who really do have medical issues and need additional support . My 2 cents201 Thanks this.
