The DFW area is the only big city I ever visited frequently where a substantial number of 4-wheelers on the big roads inside the big loops that are driving 15-ish mph under the 70 mph speed limit. Not driving slow due to traffic volume, driving slowly in a 70 mph zone with lots of space and 3-5 lanes to the left of the right lanes.

Back in 1956/57, Loop 12 was the Dallas bypass and US80 was straight thru downtown Ft Worth. Couldn't really run till you were thru the 80/180 split past Weatherboard. Interesting, was a big billboard advertising Weatherford as "Out where the West Begins.

Definitely. Going home is always good. It's been a great trip but I doubt I'll ever do it again.

While you’re down here and in Corsicana, hope that you will take time to stop by the Collins Street bakery there in Corsicana. They have some really good stuff and they’re known for their fruit cakes that are actually really good.

whatever your garmin trucking gps tells you to take. also, check with the news, texas dot about road construction, traffic and weather. always good to keep updated on road conditions before u leave and while you drive to plan the best possible route.

If someday you are lucky enough in Jan-Feb to drive through Texas when we get our annual half centimeter of snow, you will have the pleasure of experiencing driving along side 4-wheelers in the left lane, driving 40mph below the speed limit, with their 4-way flashers on.

RockinChair, dwells40, REO6205 and 2 others Thank this.
