My friend and I applied for a team position at estes and the recruiter sent our apps to the terminal but my friend has two tickets in his personal car one is speeding over 12 mph and the other is improper lane change. Both tickets should not have any points since in TN they fall off after 2 years which his are past 2 but less than 3. Would this affect our application? We got an interview soon and both of us got a perfect score on the prescreen which im not sure included mvr.

What Does Estes hiring policy say?
-
Just says acceptable mvr. He listed the tickets on the application. Also estes is in a big need of team drivers. Asked a recruiter and he said they have hired people with tickets and is on a case by case basis.Chinatown Thanks this.

Did your friend have their CDL two years ago when they got the tickets? If so then it doesn’t matter what they were driving when they got the tickets. There’s no differential between a regular vehicle and a commercial vehicle when it comes to tickets as a CDL holder.

The pre-screening doesn't include mvr reports. Just be straight forward about it. Hopefully you both get the job. It is up to Estes. Our past decisions can definitely affect our future

Never bet on the truthfulness of a recruiter's words. Car salesmen don't often tell customers buying a car is a bad idea.wis bang Thanks this.

Self insured or not, they have some guideline for the maximum combination of preventable accidents and moving violations.
Some moving violations can have more weight [CDL suspension items like speed 15 or more, reckless driving, etc] but many guides run around 2 moving violations within 3 years with no accidents -or- some combination thereof. -
He is a very experienced driver. I know Walmart says you can’t have a serious violation in a cmv in 3 years so he would qualify at Walmart I would assume then he would qualify at Estes. When companies say no more than 2 violations on 3 years, does that include serious violations like improper lane change?
-
The reason I say personal car is because for example Walmart says you can’t have a serious violation with cmv in the last 3 years but his serious violation was 2 years ago but it wasn’t in a cmv so he would qualify for Walmart.

He only has those 2 ticket in his car and they have fallen of points wise in TN. 2024 will his 3rd year. His PSP should be clean as well. He has no accidents.
