What used to get me was a swifty, snidey, or jb jumping out in the hammer (like they are gonna do something there) and taking 20 miles to get around and open the lane. Nice big parade following them.....

I was hung out for the weekend when i picked up my last student so we practiced backing on the southeast 40 gravel lot. I told the Mike what i wanted to do but didn't want to burn my fuel all day so he told me to use a Mav-IC truck. So my student and 2 other recruits practiced all day saturday before picking up at Reynolds on Sunday am.
A driver in the Specialized div. Ed was his name was in for service and was hauling Thomas the train so was a good photo op for all the drivers with yungins at home lol. -

Ed, Mike, James, and Scott have been joined by Chris Greenwood and a guy named Jeff. Chris replaced Ed in the classroom, Ed in some sort of safety instructor now.
and Jim, I'm pretty sure I've got the same trainer as you had, "PeeWee". -
He knows alot....but also has a major gas issue!MtDewMan Thanks this. -
Yesterday I had three drops. Each time I had to untarp and then retarp.
At the second last drop there were so many piles of pallets that I could not make it through to pull in. I got out and reloacted two piles but the last pile was banded together and I had to have them move it with a fork lift. After I dropped the shinny bar at the last drop, I was sitting in the truck cooling off. This old guy walks up to the truck and yells.."Move it on down the road...I am sick of listening to it. ( I had it only running for about 5 minutes) I told him I could shut it off. He says "Good, there is a three minute law in this state. I said Sorry Sir, but I was not aware of it.
I then headed down to my favorite backing place in Fredrick Maryland.
I put it in the hole with only two pull ups! I was pretty proud of myself.
By the time my shingles were tarped, I was out of time and had to spend the night there.
TMC has a drop yard there. I watched two of their trucks run into trailers. I guess it can happen to anyone.
I was not able to make my delivery time. There was an accident on I 70 near cambridge Ohio. A semi rolled over.
So I am sitting here just north of cincinnati and will unload when they open tomorrow at 8:00 AM
Hope eveyone is well! God Bless! -
Here is the reality of flatbeed trucking. You work your a_ _ off.
There is none of this just take your time driving at an easy 55 because the loads are figured at 48 mph...You rush to where you are going....you wait. Then you rush to go to the next place....then you rush to get to a truck stop or rest area before your time runs out.
That is why so many people get out after they get into it. It is not what the recruiters and the posters and the tv ads tell you. It is a hard, rewarding job that you have to hustle hustle hustle!
That is the truth as I know it after being on the road for a month!
God Bless!MtDewMan and Ridgerunner665 Thank this.
