With 5 years of exp I find it odd that you are selecting a co by a truck. I like the lonestars too, but that line of thinking is more along the lines of a new guy that wants a hood and chrome. Most drivers want, good pay, hometime, bennies etc. Each to his own I suppose. I have seen a few lonestars here and there, but do not know of any one co that runs them.

    uh, lol.

Companies are cheap...hence why they buy the bottom of the barrel when it comes to trucks. Even if they buy a 'better' truck, its going to have the most basic of basics in it anyways.
I dont know of any large company (or any company at all) that is buying Lonestars...I think its just cost prohibitive. Along with that, you would need to have much more than five years under your belt to land in a Lonestar, even IF a company had them.

It does sound like you are putting the cart before the horse. I like the Lone Star as well but something tells me its more for the high end owner operator who is making the big bucks. If Swift had those trucks it wouldn't make me want to apply.

When they first came out I wasn't shure about them, I figured they'd grow on me...But I was wrong 'cause the more I see them around the uglier they are!
Someone here recently said the most accurate description of them that I have heard when he said..."The whole truck looks like it was built by Barjan".

I saw one as a daycab the other day and it had to be the sorriest looking thing I've seen in years.

Other than that...You are a rookie and ought to be setting your sights on getting a decent job and not on what kind of equipment that you're gonna be driving.

And the Coronado is much uglier than the Classic and Century. Its like they took the ugliest parts of both trucks and glued them together.

Western Dist. has 3 of them, all are spoken for and the drivers are super happy with them (as an aside, anyone who is familiar with that Western Blue knows how it shines, one these lonestars is full of chrome and looks like crap, the other two have a couple of chrome pieces and look awsome). There are a couple of bull haulers based in Tx. that have gone to all Lonestars, I see them running all over this area. There is also one of the flatbed companies that has a couple of them as well.

    Just like a W900 is a T600 with a different hood.
