Yup how's it going these days? Been stuck at home since last July for health reasons but hopefully by end of the month they might be corrected. Absolutely no luck finding work outside of trucking so it's tempting to go back. So I'm just curious how's the miles, freight capacity and loads doing these days? It's so tempting but if I need to do any pre hire strength bs probably won't pass still. Mostly can't do that #### squat walk they want done, like who really looks under the trailer anyways....

In general -- the CDL job market really stinks out loud right now. :(

Your luck/success getting back in will largely depend on:
    • The amount (& types) of CDL experience you have thus far
    • Where you are located -- & how good (or bad) the CDL market is in your particular area
    • The type(s) of freight you choose to pursue
    • How long (or short) the time period you are willing to stay gone/out
    • What CDL endorsements you have (if any)
    • How clean your driving history is
    • How clean your criminal history is
    • Can you pass a drug screen (hair follicle, urine sample -- or even both)
    Best of luck....:salute:

Well, you get out and look under the trailer to make sure the kingpin is locked. Forget about that?

As to miles and loads and freight capacity, it is not there right now.
I just sat for a couple days waiting for a load, and I've noticed that some of the same trucks near me have been here as long as I have.
Not the same company as those other trucks, by the way.
My next load is only about 360 miles and doesn't deliver until Monday. Today is Saturday.

The whole week has been bad. I was sitting Sunday, then got a 50 mile load into West Chicago on Monday.
Tuesday I was headed to Manteno to get my truck serviced when a pickup truck wrecked me, so spent that night in a hotel.
Wednesday I got a 'new' truck to move into and have been sitting ever since because of no loads.

The #### squat walk is BS anyways. Whoever does that.
There are other ways to look at the underside of your trailer.

    It's all very bad.

There was more freight and better rates in winter for flatbed than right now and winter is supposed to be the slow season.

Well, I'll tell ya', I don't know what to think. Stores are busier than ever, I don't really see any shortage of goods, so somebody haulin' the mail. While I realize, I may upset some, I think the owner operators of this country are taking it in the shorts, and company trucks, the seats can't be filled fast enough. I think if you can pass all the regs, there will always be a company job for you.
