Scammers at Flying J Northern Utah

Probably the same gypsies trying to sell jewelry at the TA in Fort Bridger.

 

I was at that FJ in Willard about a year ago and was approached by a middle-eastern man who wanted to exchange his “genuine” Rolex for gas money. I suggested he take it to a pawn shop if it was so valuable.

 

Gotta be pretty dense to pull cash out in front of people you don’t know. Anyone that falls for this kind of deserves it.

 

Well, that's kinda harsh. Still, it proves the old idiom that "A fool and his money are soon parted".

 

It’s harsh to point out foolish behavior? Anyone with common sense wouldn’t reach in their pocket and pull out cash in front of strangers thinking their money will be doubled.

I had a guy wanting to “borrow” my phone so he could walk around trying to call his number because he “lost” his phone in the parking lot. He walked away when I asked for his number and offered to keep calling it until he picked up. It only takes a sliver of street smarts to outthink a crook.

 

About 35 years ago, I ran across a floating 3-card monty game at a truckstop in CA. I thought THOSE had disappeared in the 40's.....

 

No lotterys, horse racing, or casino's in Utah so anything or anyone claiming otherwise is a scammer.
