If your asking if you need an adapter to use a 4 plug microphone, I would say yes, since the radio has 6 pins due to the up/down feature on the mic.
Since this radio offers 15w, 45w and 65 watt output, I would definitely run the power cable to the battery. I would recommend installing a 15 amp fuse in both pos and neg cables next to the battery posts for safety.
With a radio that can put out 65 watts, I wouldn't mess with an amp. It basically has a built in amp already.

Appreciate that. Any advice on a copper antenna that will mount to a mirror bracket?

Sorry, I'm at a loss as far as copper antenna goes. Is this a brand of antenna? Or are you referring to a copper coil loaded antenna?

Something like a Van Ordt Pow-R-Stick. I don’t think they make those anymore. What is a good antenna that utilizes copper and what size adjustable mirror mount would fit my W9?

Oh okay, the one antenna that I can think of that might perform close to the power stick, would be a sharpshooter antenna. I don't have any experience with them, but there are guys on this forum that uses them with good results. Depending on the length of antenna you buy, you may need a beefed up antenna mount. I'm not sure what mount will work on your w9, so hopefully someone who knows will reply.

I would do like a 5’ or 6’ skip shooter with a firm quality spring so it doesn’t snap incase. Just high enough so it clear whatever your hauling from behind. I do skateboards and have run my Wilson 2K for over 3 decades. Always kept it over 14’. Right now it sits about 14’2”.
