got to the shipper this morning. while backing up into the dock, steering felt weird.

thought maybe it was power steering unit since shop had replaced the resevoir.
since the docks area was small i grabbed the loaded trailer and limped slowly out to the street
swift tire guy shows up 90 ,minutes later and his jack broke while lifting up the front.
waited for another half hour for another tire guy to show.
got tjre replaced and made the deivery here in redlands ca.The_vett, Moosetek13, dwells40 and 1 other person Thank this. -
The o/o load board is now live. So, o/o getting all of the freight.
Moosetek13 Thanks this. -
Doesn't seem quite fair, does it?
And during this time my DM is telling me about how the DM's are getting flack because their drivers have low miles, high idle times etc..
In the mean time, Swift has all the company trucks that are not producing because the O/O and L/O people are taking the loads with first dibs.
Paying us layover when they have to, but never enough to make up for the low miles.
I wonder, does that load board also let them stack loads so they are never sitting?
Because all I am told lately is that we are 100-120 loads short on any given day.gentleroger and throttle325 Thank this. -
Yes, they do get to stack. They want to make sure L/O have money to pay off their leases, while screwing company drivers. Any good loads that the O/O and L/O don't take goes to shuttle. Have you noticed they are having more non shuttle drivers tcall their loads after 400-500 miles so that shuttle can drive that last 1000 miles to final, when the non shuttle drivers are capable of making it to final?

If you want to know what kind of freight is available in a particular area, check out the JB Hunt load board, which is viewable to everyone. There is always good freight. I suspect that Swift O/O and L/O load board has similar freight. Also, the Trucker Path load board shows good freight.

A driver with a existing youtube channel recently became a Swift OO and has talked about his first couple of weeks at Swift. He said he was told that the load board is not up to speed and he cannot survive on it. Swift suggested he plan on being dispatched the traditional way. That they are still working on the load board.
He recently started logging in to look at it and said that there has never been more than a handful of loads listed nationwide at any given time. If I recall he said the highest he saw was either 15 or 25 and none were anywhere near him. One time he looked and there were 5 loads nationwide. The channel page on youtube is "This Guy Trucks!" and you can watch for yourselves.throttle325 Thanks this. -

Near Rockford, IL.
I was sitting at the Gary terminal this morning and was thinking it would be another long weekend of sitting, and concerned that I would not get home in time.
Around noon I got a Lowe's load, with both a message and a phone call from the planner.
She said there is no freight, but Lowe's just sent this so she is giving it to me. She was trying to get me in a better area to get me home.
I deliver in Altoona, IA tomorrow at around noon, and my home time is set for Monday. Here's hoping.dptrucker Thanks this. -
After about 7 weeks on the road I am finally home again.
I didn't make it back in time to shuttle my sister to and from the hospital today, so her son took care of it.
From what I've been told her surgery went well and she should be home in a couple hours.surf_avenue, throttle325, dptrucker and 2 others Thank this.
