Do you remember when you had to buy 50$ fuel before you left the state , did IFTA stop that practice , I think you could be fined or go to jail for not buying fuel.

I remember when Ms. had 2 different colors of fuel stickers. 1 you had 2 stop at the scale and show a receipt to prove you purchased enough fuel to cover the mileage you were running on that trip. They would stamp it & send you on your way. The other one you filed a quarterly report with the state.

I run a 600-700 horsepower 389. I don’t have that problem. I’ll probably fill up twice in every state!

Arkansas is the one that I remember. You got a yellow carbon copy when you bought fuel, and you had to have that or you had to pay the taxes right at the scales.
And yes, IFTA did away with that. Sure don't miss a permit book that weighed 5 pounds!wulfman75, IH Truck Guy and wore out Thank this. -

Tachograph now thats awesome , remember the Safety Dept in Squad cars that would pull you over and check that Tachograph, I think CF or Preston had there own State Patrol , way before my time.
