Forgot to add, the truck legal detour would be Poplar street.
Coming from the East that would be the SR 42 intersection with SR 46/ US 40 (42 becomes Poplar street at 46). So you'd turn left from 40 to 46 and then turn right at the next light.
From the West 13th street is the nearest truck legal cross street (if I was running west on Old US 40/Ohio street I would probably cut over at 3rd (US 41) or 8th because 13th and Ohio is a congested and tight intersection and a right turn in a big truck there is Not a Good Idea TM.

Westbound is posted "12'-10" at curb line" and eastbound says "12-11" at curb line." I've never driven this, but I guess they're saying if you're hugging the right edge, you'll clip those curved support brackets.

And may I congratulate you, sir, on your use of the word "bumfoozled." A quick search revealed that that word has heretofore NEVER been used on thetruckersreport.com!

Maybe part of the drum if not the truck itself was higher than the posted heights?o_O

According to the blurb, they said accident involving cement truck and the trestle. Im going to go with the cement truck just plowed the guardrail and tapped the bridge.

Road looks like it was recently paved at some point. Were accurate measurements taken after the paving work was completed?

A cement truck was NOT overheight for this, its a truck route with a lot of van and flatbed traffic, not to mention containers, if the bridge height was a problem, it would already have happened, cement mixers tend to be about 12-6 tall when road ready and no weight.

Once again, article states "accident involving cement truck and trestle" NOT "overheight truck strikes bridge"

Is there vertical support post between directions of travel? Maybe he hit one of those?

    A trestle IS basically a bridge,a railroad bridge,but a bridge nonetheless.
And just because the road is a designated truck route doesn’t necessarily mean a truck won’t hit something overhead. Many a time there have been occasions where trucks have hit bridges/trestles where the road has been reworked but someone didn’t do the math on height clearance after fresh asphalt was laid down(happens a lot especially in New York State) and sometimes they forget to change signs showing the revised height clearance.
