May have to pull out a dial indicator and see if the cam is toast or something. Another thing I noticed on Cummins insight is my ambient temperature stays at 59 degrees. It was 80 degrees today in Georgia.

Truck always had a long start before rebuild and after rebuild. Never would start up right away. I’m still digging. Gotta be a mechanical issue? -
Are you sure the cam timing is correct? Did it ever run well after the overhaul?
BoxCarKidd and Big Road Skateboard Thank this. -

also is possible that the mechanical part could be bad and electrical be good on an injector? My cooling fan was welded so it ran all the time. The short period of time I drove it it never got to operational temperature. -
Does it have Jake’s ? I had a friend that rebuilt his Jake’s and when he reinstalled them, had that same sound you had, found out he pinched one of the o-rings when he rebuilt the Jake’s. Just my .02.
Heavyd and BoxCarKidd Thank this.
