How come a lot of people don't let you over anymore when you have your blinker on like they used to?

It's scary, I keep having people who speed up on me as soon as I start moving into another Lane after I've clearly had my signal on and given them enough time to recognize what I'm doing. More often than not I see these people holding a smartphone up directly in front of their face as they're driving, it's either that or I'm sure they have driver assistance features such as adaptive cruise control on their vehicles and they're just letting it drive the car for them instead of paying attention.

I have also seen an uptick of people passing on the shoulders even if they don't really need to, apparently some people just don't care.

I've actually seen someone merging their vehicle directly into a trailers ICC bumper and completely tear up the front end of their car. I am at the point where I just assumed that no one is paying attention when they're driving and I'm making more liberal use of my air horn as needed.

Cars no longer want to be held up by trucks; not letting a truck over just makes it worse if they have to slow down. It’s the ultimate “#### you” to everyone behind, and just incentives more cars to not let trucks over.

They must be tailgating if there is no room for others to merge.

Road rage, the high cost of auto insurance, overcrowded emergency rooms-- many of the country's problems would fall by the wayside if drivers would just leave a safe space.

Because all is good as long as it doesn't involve them. They can't stand the thought of someone costing them 5 seconds of time, but then they'll lose their mind if they can't pass just one more car before their exit. Of course, that's to get home 3 seconds quicker so they can sit on their phone in the driveway for 20 minutes.

Same reason they'll dart around a truck for accelerating slow just to make the slowest right turn known to man an eigth of a mile later and bring the truck back down to almost a stop.

And they're not around the industry or have any understanding of it. That raggedy, filthy truck being driven by someone with a foot on the dash and phone in hand swerving down the road is not the same as the professional needing over for a cop on the shoulder. They don't realize that though. It's just "big, slow truck is inconvenient".

I drove a 105ft glue lam truck from NW to LA. It had 7 blinkers on each side. I had no time for foolishness.
5 blinks I be coming over. They always found a hole.

True. I am not asking your permission, I am telling you to GTFO of my way before I reduce you to street pizza.

Honestly, I hate having to be a bully, but these days, it's becoming unavoidable.

My question is, Why do you need to get over just as another truck is about to pass you?
Especially when there is nothing behind the truck that’s passing you!
Maybe you should have paid attention and made your pass before they got close instead of running up on the truck that is in front of you then expecting the other guy to drop 5-10 mph just so you don’t have to turn your cruise controll off and hold the passing lane for the next how many miles because your only able to do 1/2 of 1/10 of a mile per hour more than the truck your passing!
I would suggest many should look in the mirror and ask who is the inconsiderate one?

Old drivers aged, retired, died. The art of 3rd blink and I'll be in you lap was lost.
