Thats the problem, the dang company is full of incompetence. From experience, and real life actual hands on experience, common sense isn't that common. A thin foam strip isn't going to be comfortable to anyone trying to get a restful sleep. Invest in a mattress, use the restraints and stop over stepping boundaries. Or quit. People assume bc you're given permission to be rude, that you should. No sir and no ma'am. Shared space doesn't mean you trade space. Sounding like an expired cry baby marine who has lost the ability to think sensible. Just like anything else, start to learn to use more common sense.

When I was in training my mentor made his bed and I used my sleeping bag over the top with my own pillow.
    No infringement on his bedding.
He also considered it unsafe to be in the top bunk while the truck was moving.

Restraint systems don't really do anything except keep you up there. They do nothing for comfort. And the top bunk is like being on the end of a pendulum where all movement is amplified.

My trainer at Werner was great and I always felt lucky but the mattress in that truck was seriously disgusting. I brought a sheet and put that over it and had my own pillow so I slept like a baby tho. He took the top bunk unless truck was moving then he’d sleep on top of his sleeping bag in the bottom bunk.

Imagine getting caught in a 3 day blizzard on 80 with 3 dudes in there burping, farting and trying to FaceTime their girlfriend with the chicken choked? Worse than prison.

I thought it was illegal to be in the top bunk while the truck was moving? As far as "sharing" a bed, complain about that to anyone that served at least on a ship, and see how well that goes down. Lol. For an actual solution, buy an airmattress, and either flip it or stick it up top. This isn't hard

It's legal as long as you have straps up there. And for me, it wasn't the mattress that was the issue, it was that every pebble we drove over launched me in the bunk. It was miserable.

Considering I wake up every time my guys roll over up there, I can't imagine trying to sleep while the truck was moving.
