It’s a shame but not surprising the dot has broadened cdl cpap scam to new driving school graduates. Now all these grads have their license held hostage before they even get a job.

My question is; what or who initially claimed your son ‘needed’ a sleep study? Did he admit that he snores to a Doctor, or on an application somewhere? A Dr. is the last person anybody should discuss your sleep with.
tscottme Thanks this. -
He never knew he snored and never knew he had a problem at all. I have been on tons of campouts in a tent with him and never heard him snore either. I think to have sleep apnea there must be more to it, than just snoring. I'm not a DR so I don't pretend to know if he does or doesn't. We ain't trying to buck or fight the system or make waves. He will comply with, or do whatever needs done, he just wants to get hired by someone and start making some decent money. -
PS.
I looked at his "ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet" and the only setting it will let us change is the ramp time and we changed that yesterday and he says after the change there was no improvement to being suffocated all night. He called the machine rental company place this morning and they are changing his mask from one of the nose covering only ones to the full mouth and nose covering one and they also confirmed that before they can remote connect to it to change a setting they will need a Dr prescription change to do so. We already got the tracking number on the new mask incoming (will be here Friday) so he's going to try it out over the weekend before we have to go calling the Dr again for a prescription change, cause that pirate is probably going to make him come to the office for it so he can get more money out of us. -
Not sure what head gear he has but the connection over the head is most comfortable. Also the under nose silicone points seem to be best. The company changed a older version of the nose cushion to a cheaper piece of crap now. If he used a soft silicone under nose cushion I cut the bridge between to two breathing nose holes out. It suffocated me too if I moved during the night. Amazon also seems to be the cheapest if you have to pay out of pocket too. If you have the insurance company to deal with they charge more for the same parts!!!
My dr office never asked to see my results but this year I had to go to a clinic. One clinic wanted to see 90 days worth. Had to find another because of non use on my part.OkieDokie405 Thanks this. -
I have ResMed BiPAP it same as Airsence 10 just a little more computer power. You don’t need doctors to change his air pressure. Autoset cpap works by sensing when someone stops breathing. When they do it make little puffs of air and turn up the pressure till someone start breathing again. It’s not alway the best option because it lowers the air pressure kinda till they stop breathing again. It’s always looking for best air pressure.
The AirSense 10 has pressure rang of like 1-20. To much pressure and it hard to breathe out against the pressure. If it’s too low your airway will close and you can’t breath feel like your suffocating.
You set a rang on the ResMed 10 yourself or change what they put into machine if they put anything in. It range set could 1-20 because they are hoping the cpap can find the pressure. Plus they probably did not send him to sleep lab to get the exact pressure setting.
You can set the range the cpap will stay like 10-18. So it will never drop below 10 pressure and never go above 18
You press and hold the Home button on bottom machine. Then also press in on the round dial at same time. Hold both in for about 5 seconds.
Now you see the Clinical Menu Settings. Now you look and see what pressure settings they put in the cpap,if they have it wide open 1-20 or maybe 5-18. Since he is suffocating at night turn it up to 10-18. My pressure setting are 11-15. You don’t have get the exact pressure setting because he has Autoset cpap, but if he can’t breath at night, the lowest setting the cpap will go to need to be raise so he can breath at night.
Just so you or anyone want to know they make 4 kinds of cpap machines. A regular cpap that run at 1 pressure. Then Autoset cpap that can change the pressure range automatically on each breath someone takes. If they stop breathing it can raise the pressure. Then a BiPAP it has two pressure setting. One when you breath in and then it will drop the pressure when you exhale. The last one is almost like a ventilator it will breathe automatically for people who can’t.Last edited: May 28, 2024

UPDATE: My son switched from the mask that covers just the nose and has the hose attachment on the top of the head to another mask that covers the mouth and nose and that solved his problem. No more suffocating nights, sleeping like a babe again. Also Melton got ahold of him and he is officially hired and starts June 24th in Tulsa, OK. Thanks again to everyone who responded and helped out.
Brandt and kemosabi49 Thank this.
