Been looking for a replacement radio and every one I've seen says fm. I didn't even know that was a thing for cb.
Anyone using FM yet???

From all I hear the sound quality is much better and some are even reporting that even longer distances it works pretty well, not sure if it’s the extreme skip distances like AM? But it’s not limited to super short close range distance.
If a channel has a lot of noise or distant chatter blending in the background, the FM will basically drown it out and you can hear the other person much betterAnother Canadian driver Thanks this. -
It's funny to see this thread come up today because this week I realized if I pressed the channel tuner knob in I get FM. The problem with switching to FM is when you are tuned to FM you don't get AM so it's either one or the other and since most people don't have FM why would anybody monitor it exclusively?

How I would use it is if I start up a conversation of any length with someone that’s going to last a while I’ll ask if they have FM? If they do, “let’s switch over to FM”! You won’t hear all that chatter in the background that often times is there or even the static.
But just to monitor FM only? You’ll never hear anybody if you do that. Find someone to talk to you first, then switch over to FM if they have that capability.Another Canadian driver and handlebar Thank this. -
