Economics of the commute, and dealing with wildly variable personalities. Day cab is at least partly sales too..

My experience doing day cab stuff and dealing with politics and personalities is what I think about every time I start to hate OTR. If you have to work for a living most alternatives are way more miserable when you actually consider everything..

The only rigor I found with LTL and fuel delivery was holding my tongue and politics.. It's a job for nine to five people not those who chose trucking cause they hated nine to five and other people's BS but needed a living..

Sometimes if they're near a DC, they drop the trailers and wait it out at truck stops.

I listen to "real dictators" on iheart. So if I ever rule a country I won't make the same mistakes.

Definitely made a mistake! I have never ever seen a company treat employees so bad.

I hate to break it to you, but that's every OTR&Regional company. The company isn't treating you that way the DM and planners are. If a DM leaves you in layover for two days nobody at the company ever hears about it.. I've worked at "good" companies where they had layover pay, and the second one DM doesn't like you you're going to be getting short checks even if they have to dispatch you late in the week to avoid layover pay..

PTL has always been a live-in-truck company where the second you have a preference or opinion they are gonna short you till you quit, but almost all are.. They hire anyone and can replace you in a day; CDL mills are busy and the standards are low..

Been here 6 years. Treated great. It’s all about what you put into it and how you manage yourself.

Not my experience at all. If you aren’t running; they aren’t bringing in revenue. Do you keep up on your ETA PTA? Do you “check in on Friday” for a preplan? I’ve overheard conversations from the most disrespectful and down right crazy drivers talking to their DM’s and I hope you aren’t that way to yours. Sure, PTL is a smaller company that tends to grab a lot of left over loads from bigger companies and just like most don’t have a lot of weekend support; but, I’ve done well here since Celadon went out of business and I’m retiring from here and 18 months with a good chunk of revenue in my Employee fund.
