I've found the trick to driving in Atlanta traffic, first thing in the morning slam the door on your hand . It won't make the traffic any better, but it'll put you in the same mood as the other A holes on the road. If it's raining you may want to do both hands.

 

You have canvas underneath the tarp?

 

Polypropylene fiber pad. Only way I'll tarp cnc machines. I carry a couple of cheap movers blankets with also. Only use them on the random bolt or sharp corner that the big pads don't cover.
