This is a basic light (25 to 30ton capacity)RGN in operation.

That is a standard 5 axle, we see up to 19 axle combinations with a RGN as its base.

Thanks mate, but I don't remember doing all that. Seems to me it was just crank up the donkey engine, lower the trailer to the ground, pull the locking pins and disconnect the airlines between gooseneck and trailer, then drive forward a little before stopping to raise the gooseneck to go away and park the truck. Don't remember having to disconnect the 5th wheel at all.

I'll have a check with my mate Patrick who does this stuff full time to see if my memory is correct or not, but it was over 40 years ago so either they never gave me another one or they did and I got so used to it I blanked it from my mind.. I posted a picture on here of my truck with my stepson behind the wheel with a machine on ready to unload at London docks. That was on a low loader so perhaps I had them often, but never again for rollon plant. Ain't getting old wonderful. ;-)

yes I showed the basic mechanical RGN, we also use hydraulic units. They are heavier but less labor intensive to use (average 750lbs or 340kg)

Hey, Total Transportation of Mississippi, check out your right front steer tire on this Cascadia. I took this pic early Saturday morning after he parked next to me. I added the labels to the pic to make it easy to identify. Based on the VIN this is a 2022 model. IMG_20240622_164641.jpg

Another one that can’t be bothered to keep an eye on things....

I suppose I shouldn’t be, but it’s hard to not be surprised that this would be found on a truck someone is LIVING IN let alone simply driving every day.

Actually, it sort of mostly doesn’t surprise me anymore.
I am not sure about all the recent changes, mandates and regulations that have come down the pike regarding the process of schools for CDL. It seems that the newer requirements for education may not be working. But I get to deal with the aftermath of them. So Two week wonders get into a training truck, with a two week wonder that now has 6-8 months of actual solo experience……

No no no my boy, WHAT?!!! Actually, after doing the math, He's a little closer to 55,000 lbs, still WAY too overloaded for the truck. That truck is rated for about 36-40,000 lbs gooseneck. That puts him around 15,000 lbs overloaded. He is gonna get busted at a scale big time... if he can even make it there ;)
