How come a lot of people don't let you over anymore when you have your blinker on like they used to?

I turn on my signal for THREE (3) blinks/flashes on a 3 lane roadway, FIVE (5) for a 2 lane and make my lane change.

They’re easy to spot. They’re oftentimes the ones who can’t bear to put their phones down for longer than 5 seconds or they’ll go into the equivalent of heroin withdrawal.

But you’re right. That will only get worse.

Cell phones have been the ruination of society.

So the truck or car coming strong beside you gets cut off and now has to brake and wait, when you should have let them pass before switching lanes.

You are the exact reason no one lets people over anymore, at least as far as I can estimate from your wording. Nothing about ensuring you won’t force someone off, force someone to hit the brakes nothing about attempting to accelerate in this Ryder to merge? Yep just 3 flashes that takes how long and your cutting over on me or anyone else for that matter!

if my blinker goes on and i look to see there's room to move, in the time it takes to turn my head back straight to watch the road, the aboriginal spacecraft behind me has decided to "be there for me", and when i turn my head back to look in the mirror, oh what do you know, now I'm about to kill someone, I'm "not paying attention". now the dangerous proximity is "my fault". you know what has to, by definition, be faster than light itself? darkness. see where this is going? the blinker isn't me asking, the blinker is a legally mandated notification of intent. what sharp adolescence chooses to do with that information is clear to see by everybody. what I'm saying is everything you see on the road regarding miscommunication or conflict is 100% deliberate, by at least one party, and I don't gaf if that party d i e s or not

So you think that because your blinker flashed 3 times you have the right to cut over in front of traffic moving faster than you that is right on your corner? These guys have cut over on people that are actually already alongside them just because they put thier flasher on they think they have the right to force everyone to do a hard brake test as they try and avoid contact.
Let’s face it folks 98% of the flash 3 times have already boxed themselves in behind someone and slowed way below the posted limit before they finally decide to squeeze on over causing that long line of traffic in that lane to suddenly slow and wait for them to get back up to speed.

At least your looking in the mirror, some I’ve witnessed I wonder if they look at all?

Old drivers aged, retired, died. The art of 3rd blink and I'll be in you lap was lost.

I've been trucking since 2012. I have never noticed a difference between how many (or how few) people would let me over in 2012 and 2024.

When I am driving a semi-truck, my policy is to slow down to let other semi-trucks merge, but not cars. It is a lot easier to merge in a car than a semi-truck. I think truckers should help other truckers with this.

Well, my friend I have 49 years of driving. I have a perfect driving record so I think I’m qualified to know what the hell I’m doing. And you know what I think between both of us we have about 100 years of driving if you were driving for 50 years so I think we best just leave this alone

I really think it’s best to walk away from the thread. We’re not getting anywhere.

Personally I am sick of flashing guys to come out and they just sit there. That’s with saying something on the CB over and over. Yes I know nobody has it on, but I someday will find a driver who still does! It’s been years!
