General rule of thumb, ALWAYS CHECK YOUR HEIGHT!!!!!!!!!! Even when I'm pulling just regular box trailers, I always keep a tape measure handy to measure the high spots before I leave. Sure, they put clearance stickers on the side, but I have found some to be inaccurate. AND FOR PETE'S SAKE TRIP PLAN!!!! Some insurance company is furious right now. They have a big fine on their hands.

Probably the worst way that could have happened. That bridge is basically going to need to be rebuilt from underneath if they shore it up, replace the 3-4 steel girders (looks like some flatbed work for someone :) ) If they can do that, they won't need to build new. Otherwise, if they don't think the old structure is solid enough to support a repair, they'll add it to the number of OOS bridges and they'll rebuild it meaning it's going to be down a long time. Expensive? Heheh that's the just the start. Then the fines, the court, the license of the driver, etc. :)

Looks like a cutting torch would be the right tool first. If that was me. My insurance company wouldn't even answer the phone.
