Well I work for a small outfit that has ungoverned trucks and from my experience the company will absolutely expect you to use the speed of the truck along with some loopholes in the ELD to run 800 miles a day sometimes so be careful what you wish for.

Being out for 2 months at a time was causing issues at home so I just had to give it up. I still have nothing bad to say about them apart from the issues I've already discussed.

I'm not going to say the name of the place but its a small Chicago based tanker outfit that hauls out of Ingredion in Summit quite a bit.

Franzen Trucking of Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin has 75mph trucks unless you are naughty and then they'll kick you down to 70 or 65. Be a good little boy or girl and you can drive one of these super sweet purple Volvos!
Knucklehead and Speed_Drums Thank this. -
600 miles a day governed at 65 takes longer than 800 miles a day ungoverned

Not necessarily. It depends on where/when you're running and the driver him/herself. It's not how fast you go, it's how efficient you are. It all depends on how long you can maintain one speed. 75 mph ain't always sustainable in my estimation. A driver can make more money running 62 than a driver with a wide open truck.tarmadilo, Crude Truckin' and Lonesome Thank this.
