July 4th and New Years are the only 2 days all the poor folks around here seem to have endless money to spend.

 

Just don't light some fireworks and balance it on your head, like that dead guy did in SC.

Couple years back there was an article about one of our fireworks stores here in Melbourne. They said that the average sale was around $5k.

In my hood it seems to be a contest of who spent the most money. I truly hate being home on the 4th because it’s just out of control.
Starts a week before up to about a week or so after. Going to bed early around this time of year is kind of useless.

Then there’s the rednecks that can’t afford fireworks but have more than enough ammunition for a small army. These are the ones that really worry me.

 

My daughter and son in law live in Florida, Hell that's every night when were down visiting or loud exhaust and pedal to the floor 24/7.

 

Yep, it’s not just the Fourth of July..every holiday is an excuse for fireworks here.

That was back in the day when us kids (and our parents) knew how to be 'safe and sane'.

 

What were the silver ones; I liked them better than cherry bombs.
Cherry bombs are great though; had a lot of fun lighting them and sending them off with a slingshot.
