I think we tried to point out WHY this is so. We tried the direct approach. I have seen this issue in schools and companies. The fact is that some people will take far more time to acquire the required skill set to do the job. Its also a fact that training time is a finite thing. Anything that goes outside of the standard is usually dealt with to some degree, but there is a time where the companies and or schools just have to force the issue and allow the individuals to fail and move them out so that they can focus on those who CAN. If someone does not acquire the basics in relatively the same as others, it is up to THEM to make that happen, and that's NEVER free.

Its an old theorem.. It has nothing to do with racism.. it has to do with monkeys
Can you solve it? The infinite monkey theorem.
If you keep winding yourself up so much, you're going to screw yourself into the ground

This forum has TONS of experience in all levels of the trucking carnival. Try reading what has been posted SPECIFICALLY about your story that you are telling. People have done their best to just give you the answers but you are apparently uninterested in that.
We will never know the whole extent of what you have left out of your story.
Many of us have seen drivers and companies in the same scenario and we have a really good idea of what the real story is.
Many of us have been in this industry probably before you were born! If you want the advice, READ THE RESPONSES without your butthurt filter on.

I saw no racist remarks here. The vast majority of people on here I would describe as truckists not racists. Except me, I'm a special case, I am :munky2:+:computer: = TB John

Yes, taking too long to back is a safety issue. Particularly when it takes too long in a company yard, it is a sign the driver does not understand the concept of backing or does not have the visual accuity to make good choices. Either is a receipt for disaster. This morning I had to help a PAM driver not hit the trailer on their sight side (I couldn't leave until they cleared the asile). This driver shouldn't have been out on their own. After I got them into the hole, I read them the riot act for their soft steer tire with a bad wear pattern. The driver did not know what they needed to be able to safely and effectively do the job.

My standard is 15 minutes. If you can't get into a standard Walmart/Target/HD sized spot in 15 minutes unassisted, I will not pass you. It takes me 1 minute to get into a spot that size, a standard new driver 5-8. When I'm training, the driver gets the first 10 minutes to do with as they please- provided we're not blocking things up and they're not close to tearing stuff up. Then they get 5 minutes of coaching, then I talk them into the spot. If by the end of the week they can't get it in the hole on their own, then they fail.

Some people can be a bit nasty. Just take it in stride and look for posts that cam actually give you some direction. Check out Epes Transport and see if they will hire you. Let's redirect your energy to getting you back on the road. I believe they take students and I think you said you live in Virginia. They gotta presence there so see what they're about. I'd try Abilene too. I don't know if they take students but try anyway.

Give a monkey a football instead of a typewriter and wait to see what happens!
