When I read or hear "experts say" I automatically question why these people are considered experts, who is saying that they are experts, and if what they are saying has an ulterior motive behind it such as a conflict of interest or profit driven media narrative, etc

it states who and what the experts are.
like this guy;
"The Mediterranean diet is, primarily, a plant-based diet, and coffee is a plant-based drink," Stephen Safe, a researcher with expertise in cancer prevention, said in a phone interview.
"If you compare the benefits of coffee to those of the Mediterranean diet, you could hardly tell the difference between them," said Safe, a distinguished professor of biochemistry and biophysics at Texas A&M University in College Station.
or;
said Cornelis, an associate professor of preventive medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
Nope, can't drink coffee, tastes horrible, could care less about anything it could do for my "health" both my son and wife are coffee drinkers and I can't stand the stuff. I usually go no caffeine, find I am better off throughout the day without it. Drink water and that is mostly it, when I am on the road. All the push for plant based diets is pretty messed up also, getting people to believe that a 100% processed food diet is better for you than anything else.

Here's a great historical example from 2003: "Experts say Saddam Hussein is preparing to use nuclear weapon on United States soil."
We could really go down the rabbit hole if you want to talk about what happened in years such as 2016 or 2020 and beyond when it comes to what " experts say."Rideandrepair, JSanborn103 and Lav-25 Thank this. -
Just going to leave this here as an example of this type of thing people have forgotten. As a general rule when the government or some mega corp funded study finds "X makes you healthier!" I tend to be skeptical at best. And no i am not compareing coffee to smokeing, just using a well known example from our past that is well known to be BS.
Oh and also
‘The situation has become appalling’: fake scientific papers push research credibility to crisis point
Remimber take any study promoting or putting down something with a grain of salt nowadays. Dont disregard them out of hand....but look into who was doing the research, who they did it for, who did it, and who paid for it before you belive anything.Rideandrepair, hope not dumb twucker, 86scotty and 3 others Thank this. -
