    I would think NE regional would be one of the easier runs to land because so many drivers hate going there, but not sure on that.

    NFI is headquartered in NJ and has tons of day cab and regional routes. I think they advertise 80% are home daily there. Good looking equipment and you're obviously in their hiring area. Not sure how the hiatus from trucking would affect hiring though

    Their ad doesn't mention any minimum experience requirements. Just 21 with a CDL, so might be an opportunity. This was a PODS account out of Camden Screenshot_20240615_151428_Chrome.jpg

    Yes I saw that also, must be something new they started and from what I understand you can still get finger-printed it's just before you start testing you would have to take that class you mentioned and of course pass it.

    I'm back again to bump this thread to get some help. I called numerous places and it seems they are all picky except for P&S. I was close to going for orientation until they stated they couldn't get me a rental which was a huge curve ball and they stated I had to ride a train at the last min this was said 2 days before orientation, yet due to my circumstances I had to basically back out of the job. I applied to at least 50 jobs on driver pulse and they are all sitting there with an assigned recruiter. Mind you I do have a pet which is my avatar if someone can point me to the right direction of finding a gig that also has a good pet policy I would appreciate it.

    This facility is at Exit 30 on I80, so it might be a reasonable distance from your house. Expect 12 hour shifts or more, so unless your dog has exceptional bladder control, you'll need a dog walker. They also have terminals in Newark and Carlstadt, so maybe you can start in Ledgewood, then transfer closer to home when something opens up. Truck Driver - Home Daily - CDL A

    Hey, thank you for your help very appreciated. I did speak to a Schneider recruiter yesterday they stated only team drivers are allowed to have pets not solo so I had to pass on that opportunity which I found weird.

    I’m in the same boat. Quit driving in 2017 but kept an active CDL. Everyone wants recent experience or to go with a trainer. I’m not doing the trainer crap again. It’s hard to come by. I’m considering leasing with a crappy company for a bit to get the experience back. They said I meet criteria since I have at least 4 months experience with no timeline requirements.

    @House Of Pain --

    Given how bad the CDL job market is -- you might give this carrier a try:

    Trucking Jobs | 48 States | Family-Owned | Haul |Trucking Fleet | Wiley Sanders | Competitive Pay | Trucking Careers | Troy, Alabama.

    They are almost in my "back yard".

    I spoke with a trainer there very recently; was told basically no specific US geographic limits on from where they hire.

    My guess is you will spend at least a couple of weeks out on the road with a company trainer -- but of course, I could be wrong on that.

    I see their rigs quite frequently down here; all their equipment looks to be in good shape.

    You would very likely spend all your time there in a fairly new Kenworth tractor.

    Anyway...it looks as thought they have the kind of pet policy you want.

    Suggestion: start off pulling dry van with them...but they do have other freight types.
