So I’m curious will estes one day pay every one .90 cents to a dollar a mile? It seems their pay continues to be industry standard.

Well ####, I can’t believe I’ve been running hard six days only to make $94K. I paid my house off and got my duplex on $94K. Can’t imagine what I could do at Estes or Fedex Freight. Been at current gig almost three years. 33yrs old and just looking to get to a forever company that actually I can retire from likely.
How long does it take to get a schedule bid?
Has Estes had a history of laying off drivers? -
Getting a bid is random. I'm from a big terminal so there's always opportunities to get a good run. No, there's no history of laying guys off. It's gotten slow but no lay off. Estes is a private company. They don't have to worry about thatdwells40 Thanks this.

I hope to come on there’s nothing left here for me. I would rather run harder and make more.
It’s been hard to get onto a LTL. It’s up to the hiring manager. I got no accidents or any violations. Yet, they passed me last time.
I appreciate the responses guys. I’m sure the answers are in here way back -
Hopefully you get in the game here man. I'm trying to get me a duplex myself lol.threeglude Thanks this.

@KaoMinerva
Found your post while searching reviews for Estes after finding this local job posting. I shifted away from driving to pursue try my hand at starting a business and unfortunately, while it was quite successful, I didn't have the ability to "weather" the storm these last few years.
I retained my CDL (with the exception of not keeping an active med card) in order to use it as a backup if things went sideways. Welp, things went sideways. I also had some recent bad luck with my driving record. It was clean up till just over 2 years ago. Have 1 speeding ticket early 2022, 2 not at fault accidents (other drivers running into me) and one at fault accident. What do you think my chances of getting a driving gig like this would be for me right now? Good, bad, slim to none? -
I hope I catch a LTL this year or next. Definitely go for a Duplex if you make $130K a year. Hopefully you can find some for about $170K-$240K. Your salary will easily be able to handle it.
I’ll let you guys know if Terminal manager calls me in for interview. -
I'd say you're probably out the game if you're trying to get on at Estes.
I mean I'll try but I already pay a mortgage on one home (300k) and have the Vette lol. I'm definitely using military benefits this time thowulfman75 Thanks this. -
I’ll tell you what I did since you’re single like me and no kids I believe. You can make $130K so you’re mad overkill.
I only made $82K last year. That’s the most I ever made. Making less than $75K I paid off a livable $96K house. Put about $15K repairs in and it’s worth $150K now. Paid it off and I’ve been over here saving 75% of my $94K salary this year lol. No bills for real. I’ve not had one issue with the Duplex and if tenants don’t pay I got over $30K right now to renovate or do any repairs and replace them. They’re month to month. I’m living life on easy mode. I could not imagine if I started making $115K to $130K a year. I’m trying to rent out my paid off house. Which is why I want to work for Estes. Plus tax benefits stop the government from taxing my $94K or $130K as much as possible.wulfman75 Thanks this.
