You can get by with a 1 gallon wide mouthed container with a screw on top. Mix an oz or two of that RV porta potty liquid that deadens the scent with some water. Can get it in the Rv section of Walmart. Instant toilet then dump it in a real toilet when the situation presents itself. Put wax paper underneath container if you're clumsy/have bad aim etc.
Also, check into Gundry MD Bio Complete 3. It's ingredients produce a three foot snake sliding seamlessly through your exhaust pipe that almost eliminates the need for toilet paper.Last edited: Jul 18, 2024

I carried a camping toilet. I didn't use it much, but it sure helped out a few times. Stuck somewhere for hours with facilities and no place to dig a cat hole. One of those that you put water in, and some chemicals. No odor, no mess. Use it, carry the holding tank in to a restroom when you get to one, dump it in the toilet, rinse it out reassemble. No smell, no touch, no bags to dispose of.
Of course, I always took the passenger seat out of whatever truck I had, so if I just HAD to use it, there was room to work not in the bunk area. -
Ever since I had my gallbladder removed, I’ve had, er, issues with having very little warning about needing to have bowel movements. I’ve by necessity figured out an emergency procedure: tall kitchen trash bag. No need to sit, just put the opening around the posterior and push. I then put the bag open on the floor and take care of the paperwork, dropping it in the open bag. I then squeeze all the air out of the bag and tie the top of the bag into a tight knot, sealing in any odor.
Note: I definitely prefer to use a public restroom if one is available, or even a porta potty!TripleSix, Numb and Flat Earth Trucker Thank this. -
I think EVERY OTR driver should have a plan on what to do in a bathroom emergency. I promise any plan you make before the fact will probably work much better than the plan you create in the 3 seconds before the emergency shows up for real.Canadianhauler21, Numb, Flat Earth Trucker and 1 other person Thank this.

I have the bucket with the toilet seat. I primarily use it as a trash can but it's there if I need it. If I do I immediately throw the bag out after, no big fuss at all. Sometimes you just don't want to walk all the way to the bathroom and find a toilet in the truck stop that doesn't have fecal splatter while listening to some guy blow his nose in the sink, hate that crap! Occasionally you might get to a shipper/receiver who has only a porta potty ( surprisingly these days some aren't too bad) . I highly recommend having this device in your truck. It doesn't take up much room, it's inexpensive, and convenient.Numb and Safe-Driver Thank this.
