Cdl permit trying to find school or company.

Worked for prime in 2015. Was a disaster. Not sure I'd want to try that again..

Well I decided to do what I gotta do to pay my dues. Haven't had anymore positive feedback from the other companies, and I'm running out of options. I can't just wait around for a maybe, and need to start working asap. Looks like I will be in Memphis on the 29th to Start the journey with Swift. I hope I've made the right choice.

 

Swift is ok to get the career started. Many drivers stay there for years; 10 or 15 yrs or more.
Get all the endorsements while you're at Swift. Those and some experience will give you many options if you decide to leave Swift after a year or so.

Good luck man. The training at prime is good and you will learn a lot. Just don't get sucked into the lease purchase program. I did that and I didn't make any money. Was practically working for free and making the truck payments for them. I've heard of a few people being successful with it, but it's very hard to make it as an independent contractor. If that's something you want to do give it some time. Get used to the industry and save up a bunch of money for a safety cushion. Make sure you can handle the extra responsibility. That's where I made my mistake. I wasn't properly prepared for it.
