There are bunch of warehouses in Vegas, yard hopper jobs are pretty easy to do and as a temp solution could be a life saver, pay is decent and stay home time in abundance while looking for an OTR.
The_vett, Zoltan1a, tscottme and 1 other person Thank this. -
Maybe I am wrong, but it is a personal thing when you go to hire someone.
I guarantee I would never hire anyone if they were like some of these noobs. You are sincerely putting yourselves out for them. Nothing in it for you except that you are good people trying to help someone. No , thank yous , not even a see ya! , hell no I am not surprised. I would be surprised if anyone hired them. I hope I am not jumping the gun here. But talk about no manners. I am no prude , no miss follow the rules myself person , but I have respect for someone who treats me with respect.
Please stay safe everyone. We really need you!! Love to all. And THANK YOU for all you do. -
Thank you for the responses everyone. I applied to a bunch of jobs on Friday and a few more today. I'm surprised the freight market is slow right now, last year at this time I was running 3k miles a week according to my google maps timeline.
@Chinatown I applied to some of those companies you listed (May, Fox, Star), but some of the others won't take me due to my lack of endorsements.
I'm gonna keep applying to more jobs in the PHX/SLC/LA area since I'm not the type of driver who needs to be home all the time. I usually stayed out for 6 weeks at a time.Chinatown Thanks this. -
Yeah, those endorsements are very important, even if you never use them; some companies still want the driver to have them.
Keep us posted; will be interesting to see which company you go with. -
I see signs all over Vegas asking for drivers, especially up north

drive around town and just walk into the various trucking companies and ask to talk to the terminal manager. They might give you a chance right on the spot. It’s all about being in the right place at the right time

I am wrong again. Apologies for jumping the gun, I was hoping to never be an ### here on TTR , I probably crossed that line long ago ! I am glad to see you back. I wish you all good things and stay safe.
In case you didn't see it I made a comment about you running away with no thank you or even a goodbye. so that is what I am talking about.

Boy did I learn that recently, I actually stopped by my local Volvo dealer to ask about companies that they work with in the local area I could research. Lo and behold one of the companies had a brand new truck that they ordered sitting on the lot and I contacted them and they interviewed me the same day, I'll be starting with them in 2 weeks.
Live long and Volvo
