Many Dairies in south Fl sold out years ago, especially those around Lake Okeechobee.

Are all cattlehaulers so brainless. East bound on 76 going from Colorado to Nebraska, there were 2 following each other about a car length apart tailgating 2 cars in front of them, by about a car length . Fool are gonna kill somebody. There was a trooper over the hill, but he had a car pulled over. Wish he saw that.

We delivered to McArthur Dairies in Hollywood, as they covered that end FL. In those days, order buyer put together a load of just freshened. We hauled to FL; they milked till dry, sold on to countries in South America. Of say 10 loads I pulled out of Waukesha, 7 would run to Miami the other 3 to Houston, TX. Put on boat to Caracas, VZ. Spent a few nights there along the ship channel waiting for boat access.

Strange. Had a cattleman in Sturgis, MS, dealt only in Jerseys. Would load his and pull to Pinellas County Intl Airport (Yes, that-About 10 miles before St Pete city limits in 1956, off left a couple of miles. Put on a plane for Caracas.
Also pulled a few (12-15) Brangus yearlings from Beresford, SD to that airport going same way. Mexico and South America were trying to build up there own dairy and beef supply during those years.
An just to "make the cheese more binding" occasionally the WI shipper would miscount gestation and you would gain a sturdy Holstein calf on the way down.

(See my post #898 about the Brangus delivery...)

I'm fairly certain there's brainless idiots in every line of work. Some people see one of these dummy's and everyone like that is a dummy. Some of the things I've done in the last 50 years of driving there's no telling what they say about open deck drivers.

I agree 100 percent. I can and will openly admit even I still have my days. Now if the top hand that asked if we’re all brainless idiots will only stop and think about his question…….

Must have been like a snapshot in time as they were catching the 2 slows.
A few minutes later prolly they would have got by and spread out a little and opened um up to go on....
