In that article it mentioned DHL Logistics closing it's Carrollton, TX facility. Saying it lost contracts with shippers. I do know that several times i have ordered thing's which were shipped DHL and they would get to Carrollton and just sit for days and once for three weeks before delivering. Companies that don't perform are doomed by their own inaction.

High oos with their trucks, drivers oos rate was respectable.

Tells me they weren’t able to stay on top of maintenance. Their insurance was probably jacked way up due to the oos rate and the amount of accidents they’ve been in.

It’s getting ugly, companies are also starting to cut benefits and perks. I’m friends with a couple drivers who had their health insurance pulled out from under them literally overnight. Company just sent out a Notice due to financial issues they were no longer offering health insurance and bam. It was gone just like that.

We haven’t gone to those extremes yet. Last year we lost our holiday pay, which basically removes any incentive to drive/be on duty for certain holidays.
Plus we’re running our trucks further into the ground. Some of the seasoned drivers like myself used to get a new truck every year, but now we’re pushing them until the warranty runs out.

A&A Express was acquired by private equity firm Laurel Oak Capital Partners, based in Boston.
This is the most telling of the whole article. Buy it, bleed it dry, then close and sell off.
