los Lunas = long deadhead
Nursrey load....lots of stops, good off load pay if you do it. No detention pay on pickups. If there was I would live in California, getting paid for all those 10 12 hour waits for them to pick the veggies.
Now the truth comes out, you were deadheaded 800 miles spent a day loading, and NOW the appointment has been changed???? yea right, want to give the miles to a favorite son.
Yea Stevens has been leaving a bad taste in my mouth the past 2 weeks, with their total lack of planning, total lack of communications, hanging up on me, not sending me the load out sheet for a produce load, sending me repowers that are already scheduled on the QC without a phone call first. Trying to micro manage me, and my time. Treating me like a mushroom, keep me in the dark, and feed me c r a p.
Give me the information, let me run the trip, and I will let them know if I can't make it.
end of rant for tonight.

Anyone heard from Smokr? I was getting curious to his status.

Sitting in Ft. Wayne Indiana trying to find a secure place to park the truck for my hometime. The place they sent me doesn't have a gate, fence, lot lights or security. They wanted me to park the truck in back of a field next to the trees. The other side of the trees is the titty bars and ghetto. No thanks. How did this place ever get okayed to park? No freaking way I'm leaving the truck here for a week! Not without taking everything of mine off of it first!
So I call my DM and QC him the info and he gave me a number of another place to call and see if they have space, security or fencing, and what they charge, and they don't answer the phone. So now I'm on hold waiting for my DM again.
Anyway, I got my truck back and got a load from Ft. Worth to Columbus so I can get home. Haven't been home since December 3. Got to do taxes, change CDL to home state, and move things to storage and get rid of other things. Not to mention my aunt and uncle (in their nineties) have things needing done to their house. So I have hometime until Monday. Burning it up trying to find a place to park the truck where I won't come back to a stripped chassis.
Oh, and get this. I get the truck back Saturday morning, get a load, and bobtail to Ft. Worth. By the time I hit 35E my voltage is showing low. By the time I get to the shipper, I get out and find a busted generator belt. And it was just PMd in the shop for two days! Geeeeze! -
Boy smokr, luck is not on your side. Just shows us all how "close" they look at the truck while on the yard.
enjoy your home time, you surely need it. -
Smokr, glad to hear you safely made it back home. You are certainly well deserving of time at home. I know you have a laundry list of things to do but hopefully you will get to enjoy yourself before returning to the road.
I guess it is finally official. I was assigned a truck today. A T-2000 with no apu and half a million miles. After I was given the keys they told me to go out to the yard and look for it. Much to my surpirise, it was idling when I found it. I knocked on the door and a few momemts later someone came out. He said he would be moving off the truck soon. Once he took all of his gear out I was able to take the truck to the detail shop and have it cleaned. After that it was over to bay 7 for the speed settings and the disabling of the cruise.
With the safety talk complete I will be dispatched on my first load in the morning. -
Hey Smokr,Did they close that truckstop in Ft.Wayne going north on I-69 I think it's xit 109?

Parking the truck at a local place for the week tomorrow morning.
Gratz Barracuda! It's fun out here if you ask me. That is if you can avoid food poisoning!Barracuda905 Thanks this. -
yea it is fun out here. food poisoning=no fun
I always carry pink bismuth on board...(pepto) Has got me through some middle cases. And always have water, as dehydration can be a problem too.
Question for all the fellow veteran drivers looking in. Newbies join in too!!!
Trying to make it work with my new DM who thinks repowers are the way to keep moving, and make money. I hate the sitting waiting for another truck to get here.
My old DM Kelly looked ahead and worked with the planning and dispatch, and I was often pre-planned on loads which kept me moving, and I was efficient at it.
My new DM Christy does not look ahead. Today, after emptying out in Los Lunas last night, dispatch sends a message to head for liberal KS. Normal from Los Lunas. That will work good as I will use 8 of my 12 available, have 0 (zero) for tomorrow, be able to do a reset, grab the meat load and run hard. She sends me a message to sit tight, a repower is coming, and I answered, I have no hours tomorrow, let me go to liberal.
she thinks it is better to set here all day waiting for a truck, then run 400 miles up to denver to deliver at 11am tomorrow. I find that unproductive, and messes up any reset, as I will still get deadheaded to Kansas, and then reset, after wasting 2 days to do it.
There is no way dispatch or planning can work with this lady. She does not look ahead, and did not even realize I had no hours tomorrow. -
I'm in the same boat TLea.
Repowered off that nursery load in Monroe, LA yesterday. The load I got from the other driver delivered here in Shreveport this morning at Kraft. I'm out of hours at the moment, but have 12 hours coming off at midnight. So I asked my DM if I could do a reset here being as I'm not under a load. He said he doesn't understand why anyone would want to do a reset, and thinks they're never a good idea. I laughed and said "That's fine and dandy, but can I do a reset while I'm not under a load?" I don't think he saw the humor in it the way I did.
Anyhow, I get a QC message 15 minutes ago telling me to head to Little Rock at midnight and they'll load me out of there. I'm on hold with night crew as I type this, trying to find out where in Little Rock they want me to go. And I certainly hope they don't tell me to head to a truckstop there and await instructions, because if I get there at 0500, there won't be anywhere for me to park. All three truckstops in north Little Rock are still packed at that time (not to mention, the lot lizards running around that Petro won't let me get any sleep, constantly banging on my door lol).
So, yeah, I wish they'd just let me do my reset here. I'd be ready to roll with a fresh clock by 1800 tomorrow.
Oh well, Steven's logic at it's best. -
Hey did y'all get the message on the qualcom last Thursday night that there is a driver missing. Truck trailer driver no word. Kinda Freaky. My trainer talked to his dm and still no word.
I know that my trainer has been trying to get me my regions and mountains I have heard him on the phone and seen the messages he has sent. It just seems like dispatch doesn't care
