Couple hours doesn't sound too bad, I'll try that.

I'm curious how you guys handle the cable in the door hinge on driver/passenger doors. I've never really liked having an exposed cable that gets so much of a workout (flex) with doors opening and closing every day for years. In high end stereo installs I have run wiring and cables through the door boot with the factory wiring but not sure how easy that would be in a truck.

I'd like to know specifically on a modern Volvo of course, @Siinman?

I don’t have a Volvo but all my exterior camera cables go through the firewall because I have a daycab and my DVR is in the cab. Then the rear camera is routed under the cab to the back of the tractor. One hole about the size of your thumb is what I drilled for all 3 cables going to the outside. Seal the hole with silicon when finished. You definitely don’t want to pinch the cables like you may a CB coax.

I ran through same area as from door. First time I ran them and driver side got messed up since it was not the same. Kind of a pain in the ### to do it this way.

I probably don’t drop my trailer 6 times a year, so it’s not really an issue to me like it may be some people. I pull the rubber sleeve back and unscrew the connector and I am done disconnecting the trailer camera cable. It does look like a nice connection for those that need it. IMG_9762.png
