I don't want anybody inside the cab of something I'm fixing. Last thing I need is someone starting the engine or something and me getting hurt because of it. Can't trust anyone when it comes to your safety and wellbeing.

I've gotten to meet a lot of drivers during my time at various companies. A lot of them have never driven OTR. I know a few that trucked for 25 years and never once slept in a sleeper. Heck I'm pretty sure some have never even drove a truck that had a sleeper lol.Last edited: Aug 3, 2024

It seems you don't want to get a job. If you put half the energy into that that you do to post here you'd be working...local, otr, regional whatever.

for roadside repairs, i usually try to stay awake until they’re done. but if you’re tired, sleep is important for safety. just communicate with the mechanic about your situation.
