Ummm....I don't see much wrong with the trailer in your pic. Back when I was driving for JB Hunt, THAT trailer would be a 'Cadillac' in our fleet.....
But, yeah, working at a mega-carrier, I saw a lot of "damage-and-drop" trailers. One had a blown-out RFO trailer tire, complete with a bent rim (and bits of concrete from the curb/divider/island that the previous driver hit. He knocked the sliding tandems so far sideways that it would_not_slide, no matter what I tried, so I couldn't get the load legal. Had to have the shipper remove the load, then I had to take the wrecked trailer to the nearby terminal for repair! The thing dog-tracked so far to the right that I took up half the shoulder on the highway!
